Gifs are super fun and add a lot of personality to your website.
For your first gif, I would recommend using 8 photos. Make sure they are named/numbered in the correct order. For simplicity's sake, named them 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, etc.
File > Scripts > Load Files into Stack…
Browse > (select your files)
Save file as PSD file
If your timeline window is not already open on the bottom, open your Timeline Panel by going to
Window > Timeline
Inside the middle of your Timeline Panel, there’s a pulldown menu, select “Create Frame Animation” and click on it
Your first image will be located into the timeline
Click the pop-up window in the upper right of the Timeline Panel and select “Make Frames From Layers”
All of your images will load into the timeline
In the timeline Panel, change the setting from “Once” to “Forever”
When you click the play button, you can see you can preview your gif
At this point, you can adjust the duration of your gif by the pulldown menu below each image. The default is set to “0 sec”
File > Export > Save For Web (Legacy)
A new dialog box will open up. The default file format should be gif.
If you don’t see gif selected, use the pull down menu to select “gif”
Click “Save” and enjoy your gif!
